Steven began his career Human Resources 25 years ago and has an all-encompassing technical and practical knowledge across all areas of employee relations. He began his Human Resources career in the hospitality industry working for Best Western International and then spent the greater part of the past 19 years within the government contracting sector working for large government contractors such as the Director of Employee Relations for GDIT (General Dynamics Information Technology) as well as working for Nammo Defense Industries based in Oslo Norway.

Steven fully understands that most individuals in HR eventually migrate to the area of specialty that they are passionate about. Employee Relations has always been Steven's passion, and this ultimately led him to follow his long-term dreams and launch Groff-Swint HR & Employee Relations. This venture has permitted Steven to focus on what he is not just passionate about, but also allows him to be selective and choose the clients that he supports to ensure a mutual fit, both ethically and technically.
His years of hand-on experience building and supporting employee relations functions has enabled Steven the ability to become a trusted ER partner for his clients, and professional references are available if requested.
Steven has an Associate of Science in Human Resource Management through Ashworth College and made the strategic decision to focus his continued education through specialized certifications and training related specifically to employee relations. He is a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR) from HRCI (Human Resources Certification Institute as well is recently obtaining his certificate in Ethics from HRCI. He holds an Advanced Certificate in Employment Law and a Certificate in Employee Relations Law from IAML (Institute for Applied Management & Law).
Steven lives in Mesa, AZ where he and his family have resided for the past 22 years. He spends most of his free time working on projects around his home and supporting diversity and other organizations both locally and nationally that benefit the underprivileged and minorities in the workplace.
